LOST Season 6 Episodes 17/18 "The End".... The Series Finale

"It only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress." - Jacob

Those words spoken by the great Jacob were so very true all throughout this revolutionary television show during its 6-year run. Before I start my last ever LOST blog, here is a breakdown of how my own series finale blog is going to go down...

- Episode Build up
- Episode Recap: On the island
- Episode Recap: Flash-Sideways
- My analysis of the episode and entire series
- Some writing on all my friends who were with me on this journey the past 6 years
- Final Thoughts

Episode Build Up:

I enjoyed watching the 2-hr pre-show because I enjoy watching the cast talk to the camera "out of character." Seeing all of them appear on all the late-shows talking about the finale was also very entertaining enough though they couldnt tell us anything, except for Hurley who told us on Lopez Tonight that he was hoisting people over a waterfall at 430 in the morning. I hope the
producers didnt care that he said that because it actually happened. I also enjoyed watching the pilot episode the night before, and knew that the finale would have a lot of tie-ins with the pilot. So Sunday Night I sat down, watched the pre-show and then realized that the time had arrived... 9pm on Sunday May 23rd had finally arrived and we were all about to be taken on a 150 minute series finale roller coaster. Here we go...

Episode Recap: On the island

The episode kicked off with good old Christian Shepard being delivered to a church, right off the bat I knew he was going to figure heavily into the end of the episode. Next we have two groups of people heading for the heart of the island... one to destroy it(Locke/MIB and Ben), one to protect it (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley). Meanwhile we have a third group of people who are heading out to the Ajira plane(Richard, Miles, and a still alive Lapidus). I love how Lapidus stayed alive no matter what because he was the only one who could fly a plane.

Anyway, Jack and Locke/MIB meet up and threaten each other for a while and eventually team up to help Desmond go down to the bottom of the cave of light. With each trying to prove the other wrong Desmond pulls the cork out of the heart of the island and the light goes out. Thanks to all of those years of pressing the button in the hatch, Desmond is the only one who can do this because he is nearly immune to the electromagnetism at the bottom of the cave. So the cork gets pulled and it looked like hell was going to shoot up through the island. The island starts to crumble and sink little by little just like Locke/MIB thought it would do. However, what Locke/MIB didnt plan on was the side effect of him now being mortal again and able to be killed.

Locke/MIB and Jack eventually have their long-awaited battle and Jack ends up getting mortally wounded by Locke/MIB's dagger. Kate saves Jack's life and shoots Locke/MIB in the back and Jack kicks him off the cliff. The enemy had finally been defeated, but at a very serious cost for Jack. Jack tells Kate and Sawyer that they must find the Ajira Plane and leave the island for good. Kate and Jack share a heartfelt moment knowing that it will be the last time they ever see each other. Jack tells Kate that he loves her then tells her to find Claire and leave the island.

After everything that has happened to Jack, he is now ready to die in order to save the island. So Jack goes back to the cave and realizing that this could be it for him, he tells Hurley that he has to be the one who protects the island now. Hurley is reluctant at first but eventually accepts the job as the new Jacob. With Hurley still unsure about how to run the island, he asks Ben if he wants to be Hurley's "number 2." Ben gladly accepts and tells Hurley that he can make all new rules for the island now that he is in charge. Obviously Jacob had rules that no babies could be born on the island and people could not come and go as they wish to the island.

Jack gets down to the bottom of the cave and finds Desmond and tells him that he fulfilled his destiny and now needs to leave the island and go back to his family on the mainland. Jack then puts the cork back into the heart of the island and restores the pool of water and the light.

Kate, Sawyer, and Claire meet up on the Ajira plane with Lapidus, Richard, and Ben. After a lot of drama the plane successfully gets off the ground and the six of them head home.

After restoring the island and stopping it from sinking, Jack stumbles back to the spot where he
originally woke up in the first episode after Oceanic Flight 815's crash. Severely injured by the Man in Black, Jack falls to the ground in the bamboo fields and is joined by Vincent the Dog who also encountered Jack in the pilot episode in the same spot. Jack looks up to the sky with Vincent laying next him and sees his friends leaving the island on the Ajira plane, forcing him to crack one last smile. Jack opened his eyes in the first episode to start our journey, and he closed his eyes in the final episode to end our journey.

Episode Recap: Flash-Sideways

In the beginning of the flash-sideways Desmond continues his role as God in reuniting all the Losties. One by one all of the Losties begin to recognize one another due to encounters with people or objects that were important to them during their time on the island.

Eventually most of them are drawn to the church that was to be the site of Jack's father's funeral. Locke regains the use of his legs after being successfully operated on by Jack. He then meets Ben outside the church where Locke forgives him for murdering him. Ben then meets Hurley, who says everyone is inside, motioning him to join them, but Ben elects to stay outside. I think Ben never felt that he made a real connection with that group and could presumably be waiting for his daughter Alex to join him. As Hurley heads back inside, he says to Ben that he was a "...real good number two...", to which Ben replies back that Hurley was a "...great number one". Kate arrives with Jack and instructs him to enter through the back of the church, where he comes upon his father's coffin. The coffin acts as the catalyst for Jack's memories after earlier contact with Locke and Kate met with resistance on his part to believe his visions.

Jack was the last one to realize these memories, because he was always the stubborn one in real life who had trouble letting go of things and moving on. Jack then discovers the coffin to be empty, and his Dad appears behind him. Jack then realizes that he had died, and is emotionally embraced by his father, who reassures him that the people Jack has met and the events leading up until now not only happened, but the time he spent with the people on the island was "the most important period" of his life. Christian then states time has no meaning in this place and that they "made" this place to "find each other", independent of the time at which they died, so they could "move on to the next phase" together. All of the Losties died at different points in life, but none of them could move on until they did it together. Jack and Christian go out into the church to meet the others. All our original Losties are out there except for the ones who have badly sinned in their lives. We found out a few episodes back from Michael that they are stuck on the island as whisperer's.

Here is a list of all the couples who were together in the church....

Jack and Kate
Sawyer and Juliet
Desmond and Penny
Charlie and Claire
Sayid and Shannon
Hurley and Libby
Sun and Jin
Rose and Bernard

John Locke realized where he was once he began to walk again and the man of faith was in his rightful place. Boone was also alone but took satisfaction in helping his sister, Shannon, find Sayid.

All the reunions take place and everyone exchanges hugs and kisses. They then all sit down and watch Christian walk down the aisle to open up the doors to the church to let the bright light in. The characters were all united again and finally able to move on to the next phase. The church scene and the Jack dying scene took place simultaneously on the show and our final image of the entire series was Dr. Jack Shepard closing his eyes and closing the book on one of the greatest TV series of all-time.

My Analysis of the Finale and Entire Series:

Though we wont be shown any more of their adventure, the adventure isn't over. Its up to our imagination to fill in whatever form their story takes from now on. Every single question in the series was not answered, but I think that was for the best. There will forever be debate over this series and the legacy of this show will never be forgotten.

The heart and soul of LOST from Day 1 has been 'character development.' Ever since the third episode we have been shown flashbacks, flash-forwards, etc. of all of our characters and the biggest reason for LOST's success has been the audience being able to identify with each character on the show. Their lives became our lives.

The other main element to this series was redemption. As Jacob told us, all the Losties were chosen because they were flawed and looking for a better place. They all got a 2nd chance in life and they all successfully redeemed themselves on the island in one way or another. This redemption led to the happy ending that they all deserved.

Right after the finale was over there seemed to have been a lot of confusion over when exactly the Losties died. A lot of people were saying they died in the original 815 plane crash and were very upset because they were told the island was real and not purgatory. However, this is not the case. Everything that happened to our characters was very real and Christian even told us that when he said, "Jack everything that happened to you was very real." The flash-sideways turned out to be a place that all of our Losties created for themselves in order to wait for each other after they had died. They all had to find each other and realize that they were dead before they could move on together. Christian Shepard also tells Jack that some people died before him and some died after him. We saw the deaths of Shannon, Sun, Jin, Charlie, Jack, etc. on the island... and are left to assume that the rest eventually died of old age or something else. Hurley and Ben also tell each other that they were good number 1 and number 2's, so obviously all the island stuff was very real and happened to all of them. All these characters were together during their most important and happiest times of their lives. As i said, Ben never made a true connection with the Losties so he was present at the church but never went in. Eloise and Faraday were not the happiest on the island for obvious reasons so they werent there. Richard was happier when he was with his wife Isabella. And Miles, Lapidus, and Charlotte spent only minor time on the island.
The entire point of the flash-sideways was that it acted as limbo and showed us the characters journey to find each other and move on to a better place... together.

Before I get to shouting out to all my LOST friends, I just wanna throw out props to all the cast, crews, directors, producers, and writers of this show. The acting during all 6 seasons was fantastic, and to think that all of these actors and actresses were plucked out of nowhere before this show. Very few of these characters were ever heard from before LOST, and now they will probably forever be most famous for being a cast member of LOST. Congrats to all of you on a spectacular six year run.

To All My Friends Who Were With Me on This Journey During the Last 6 Years...

Some of you have been there since episode one, some of you picked up the show along the way, and some of you were recruited by me after I transferred to Ohio University. No matter how we started watching LOST you all were there with me every week for the past 6 years. You all have watched episodes with me, read my thoughts on my blog, and talked with me about all the mysterious. These past few months I have received a record number of readers on my blog and I thank all of you for all of your support for me and this great show. While it was obviously impossible to watch every single episode together, we always made time to watch each season's finale together....

Season 1 Finale- watched with everyone in Mike Gett's basement
Season 2 Finale- watched with everyone in my basement
Season 3 Finale- watched with my OU friends at Sara Normand's apartment
Season 4 Finale- watched at Sara Normand/Michelle Munoz house (along w/the entire season)
Season 5 Finale- watched in my basement with everyone
Season 6 Finale- watched w/entire family while keeping tabs w/everyone

Now its time to recognize all of my friends who have been with me during this journey. If I forgot anyone I am truly sorry and apologize.
(listed alphabetically by last name to avoid favoritism)

Skye Agnew- Even though we practically live in the same city, I never knew Skye until I went to OU. We started watching episodes together during Season 4 and she was there for pretty much every episode.

Matt Barnes- Never watched any episodes with Barnes, mainly because he was always so busy doing important stuff. But I always enjoyed hearing his opinions on each episode.

Luke Florence- Luke and I have more in common then just our love of LOST- We both write fantastic LOST related blogs. Before Season 6 started Luke put up a preview blog of LOST with everyone's thoughts and expectations for the upcoming season. It was tremendous. Luke was always solid in his opinions and for that im going to give his blog some publicity right now. Check him out at argumentking.blogspot.com

Mike Gett- watched 1 of the finale's in his basement, and discussed a lot of the early episodes with him until he went off the college at Miami. We have recently been talking heavily about the end of Season 6 and im sure he feels the same way as I do about how well the finale played out.

Mike Hallock- watched several finale's with Hallock and was usually annoyed by him talking during the show, but then again what doesnt annoy me when it comes to Hallock? All kidding aside, you could always find a LOST facebook status on Hallock's page during every episode. He was there every step of the way.

Kevin Hunt- one of Luke's best friends, Kevin showed up each week with Luke to watch LOST with us during my time at OU. The word LOUDNESS was really born out of Kevin's appreciation for the word at that moment. I couldnt hear the TV so I screamed LOUDNESS to get it turned up. Kevin laughed hysterically and really elevated my word into LOST fame. Some of you told me you still scream LOUDNESS before every episode even though im not there. Awesome.

Michelle Munoz- one of my favorite people ever to watch LOST with. I became friends with Michelle over this show and watched every episode I could with her. Her theories and interpretations of each episode was remarkable and I relied on her a lot when forming theories of my own.

Sara Normand- what can I really say about Sara? My best friend down at OU and one of the most genuine LOST fans Ive ever known. She didnt start watching the show until she met me, but I convinced her to get caught up immediately. She wasted little time and instantly started a LOST marathon and got caught up in record time. Ill never forget the night she said to me, "I cant believe you guys had to wait a week to watch each episode and over 7 months to watch the next season." She became a regular watcher of the show during Season 4 and we havent missed watching or discussing an episode together since then.

Jim Pasquine- the hardass of our LOST group. Like most of my friends at home we watched a lot of the early episodes together but then James went off to college and we kept in touch about the show for the rest of the time. I recently ran into James and talked to him about the finale while he was hulling mulch for some guy. See what I mean about hardass?

Don Somers- if there is one person out there whos dedication to this show matches mine, its Don. Don liked to focus on the emotional parts of LOST and all the relationships that went on. His favorite character was Charlie Pace and I remember talking to him the night after Charlie was killed off in the Season 3 finale. Now he is very fond of Desmond.

Ryan Wetzel- another one of the guys from home who I watched a lot of early episodes with then could only discuss episodes with once he went off to college in Akron. A few days ago we discussed what might happen in the series finale but Wetzel informed me he was a few episodes behind. Hopefully this kid got caught up cause id like to hear his opinion on the finale.

Adele Wright- ill never forget coming into 1st period band during our Senior year of High School the morning after a LOST episode and hearing Adele tell me how much she hated LOST. Thats pretty much the feeling everyone had with this show... they hated it so much, and they loved it so much at the same time. Adele and I spent hours talking about every episode that we could and its something we will always share.

Thank you too all of my friends for coming on this amazing journey with me the past 6 years and hopefully these write-ups helped you all remember all the times we spent together with this show as a big part of our lives.

Final Thoughts:

Never has anything impacted me in my life as much as this show did for the past 6 years. Executive Producer Damon Lindelof tweeted his last ever LOST related tweet immediately after the finale had aired.....
"Remember. Let Go. Move on. I will miss it more than I can ever say."

So much meaning and emotion behind those words, and that phrase sums up the message they were telling us in the show and the message he is telling us in real life. Thank you Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse for a fantastic job producing LOST.

As I write my last ever comments on LOST its really starting to hit me now that this is it. Its all over. Ill never blog about this show again. Ill never watch another new episode. Ill never wake up in the morning and wonder whats going to happen next. Its extremely depressing, but hopefully the discussion and debate will continue forever.

*Thank you to everyone who has been associated with me and this show over the past 6 years, and I hope you have all treasured the memories like I have....

LOST Series Finale Preview

The End has arrived. This Sunday is going to be one of the biggest emotional roller coasters I have ever been on in my entire life. It is going to be the greatest and yet the worst day of my life. All of these emotions will come pouring out during the 4.5 hour long series finale of LOST starting at 7pm this Sunday.

LOST Sunday schedule:

7-9pm: LOST: The Final Journey- a pre-show that chronicles the entire series thus far, and has exclusive interviews with members of the cast and a look at how LOST has influenced society over the last 6 years

9-11:30pm- The Series Finale. Titled- "The End"... be prepared for monster ratings, emmy award winning acting, directing, and writing... and one of the best 2.5 hours ever on Television.

12-1am- Jimmy Kimmel Live "Aloha to LOST"- all the cast and crew will be on Jimmy Kimmel together for the last time... this may be the last time we ever see our Losties together so it will be a fantastic show

Theories for the finale:

1. I think Locke now knows that he can get Desmond to destroy the island for him. The way I think hes going to try is by making Desmond go down to the bottom of the tunnel of light and put it out. As we saw in the episode "Across the Sea," MIB was thrown down there by Jacob, and because of the electromagnetism down there his soul separated from his body and he became the smoke monster. I think after talking to Widmore, that MIB/Locke now knows that Desmond is immune to the magnetism and Desmond can freely go down to the bottom of the tunnel and do the deed that MIB/Locke wants done.

2. I think Ben may become the new Smoke Monster. If anything happens to MIB (killed or leaves) Ben has been told by MIB/Locke that he can rule the entire island. It would be interesting to see if we see a scene similar to the Season 5 finale with MIB and Jacob talking on the beach, only now it would be Jack and Ben?

3. We have seen all our characters look into mirrors during the alternate time lines this season. Im wondering if that has anything to do with how the time lines will merge, if they merge?
Jack has seen blood on his neck on more than one occasion, im wondering if this is because Jack is the only one who wont die on the island because he is now Jacob, and the rest of our characters will die and will bleed over into there alternate time lines.

4. I think all of our Losties are on the island for redemption. In order to redeem themselves for the things that they have done wrong in there lives, they have to stop MIB/Locke from accomplishing his goals and ultimately eliminate him. I think they might all get the job done but might die in the process. If they can and are willing to die in order to protect the island then I think they will move over to the alternate time line and live out there "happy" lives in that universe. Our Losties are given a second chance in life, and we will find out if they make the most of it.

Questions remaining for the finale:
1. Will the island sink in the real time line? If not, how did it sink in the alternate time line?
2. Why couldn't MIB change bodies after going into Locke's body?
3. What exactly is Desmond's plan in the alternate time line?
4. How will the two time line's merge?
5. Will we have a new Smoke Monster?

So it all comes down to this. After 6 years of waking up each morning with LOST questions and theories on my mind. After 6 years of blog writing, article reading, episode watching, and episode discussing... it all comes down to this. One last episode in a show that I have invested over 6 years of my life in. I have been there through the highs, the lows, the good episodes, and the great ones. Sunday the entire journey comes to an end.

I will obviously be watching LIVE all night so anyone who wants to communicate with me during the episode feel free too, BUT ONLY DURING THE COMMERCIALS!!! Thanks.

I will be writing one more blog after the series finale and I hope that I have plenty to write about. Until next time, thank you to everyone who has read my LOST blog this year... I have received a record number of viewers on my blog during these past few months and I thank you all for the support thus far. I will have a shout out to all of my LOST friends in my post-finale blog on Monday. Until next time....

BASIC KNOWLEDGE and LOUDNESS..........

LOST Season 6 Episode 16 "What They Died For"

Really great episode filled with old school themes and fantastic quotes. I knew it was going to be an episode to set up the finale, and it left us with a lot of questions as we head into Sunday's huge finale.

Deaths occurring in this episode:

Zoe- via throat slash from MIB/Locke
Widmore- via gunshot to chest by Ben
Richard?- possible death by Smoke Monster

It was fantastic to see Ben back to the old Ben, and it wouldnt surprise me at all if Ben was to somehow become the next Smoke Monster after MIB leaves or is killed.

The scene between Jacob and the main 4 Losties (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley) was a scene I thought would be reserved for the finale, but I guess they felt it was too obvious that Jack was going to take over as protector to include in the finale. It was a great way to end the last episode before the finale though.

At the end, we see Locke telling Ben that they need to find Desmond because he is the fail safe in case all the other candidates are dead. Now that Jack is the new Jacob, Locke needs Desmond to destroy the island.

This is going to be a short recap because above I am writing my Series Finale preview with theories and questions I hope get answered. Until next time....

LOST Season 6 Episode 15 "Across the Sea"

Okay so after I watched the episode I originally thought to myself that this was very interesting to see how Jacob and Man in Black (MIB) came to be. 'Mother' raised the two boys and eventually made Jacob the new protector of the island. However, after thinking about things over night I have come to realize something that may have made this episode ever better. What if 'Mother' wasnt trying to make Jacob replace her as the protector of the island, but instead she was trying to make MIB replace her as the Smoke Monster?!?!?!

Think about a few things here that support this....

In the beginning we see her evil side when she openly kills the original mother. Then Mother says she left the game of black/white stones on the beach for Jacob and MIB to play with each other. Right there she is trying to start a rivalry between the two boys.

Another scene is when Jacob and MIB original mother appears as a dead person, its actually their "mother" using her smoke monster abilities to appear as a dead person and manipulate MIB to go join the people down the hill.

This is also why Mother never wanted MIB to leave the island and always stopped him from doing so, because she needed him to take her place.

The biggest example of Mother being the Smoke Monster comes from how she put all the dirt back onto the well and massively killed the entire camp so quickly. The scene looked very similar to when Smokie killed all those people at the temple earlier this season.

Jacob complained about Mother loving MIB more, and she said that she loved them both differently. So Mother raised them to be rivals and used the light in the hole as the basis for this. She needed Jacob to throw MIB down there to become to smoke monster thats why she told Jacob to never go down there.

So when MIB kills Mother she says, "Thank You" because she now knows Jacob will see this and go into a rage. Jacob does just that and throws MIB into the light hole and MIB becomes the Smoke Monster.

It was great to see how Adam and Eve came to be, Mother and MIB. Awesome. Very smart to show Season 1 clips again to remind everyone of that scene from 6 years ago.

So in the end I believe that Mother's plan the entire time was to make MIB her replacement as the Smoke Monster. Did she still have the island's protection in mind? Maybe. Smokie could be the true security system of the island.

We know that Smokie/MIB still has the desire to leave the island today, but he cant leave as long as Jacob is alive. I think thats why Mother made Jacob into the man he was. Because as long as Jacob was alive, MIB could never leave the island and would be stuck as Smokie.

If this theory is true it makes me re-think the candidate list. Are those a list of candidates to replace Jacob or MIB? I still think its a list to replace Jacob because Jacob still wants MIB to stay on the island. Thats still a gray area for me, but hopefully the remaining episode clear it up. It would be an interesting twist if one of the candidates becomes the Smoke Monster because I think eventually Smokie will be stopped and killed.

Obviously we will find out very very shortly as we only have 210 minutes left of LOST. One episode next week 1-hr long. Then the 2.5 hour long finale from 9-1130pm on May 23.

Lots of questions still remain now, and next week will set up the finale. "What They Died For" airs next Tuesday at 9pm on ABC.... until next time....

LOST Season 6 Episode 14 "The Candidate

Okay so we have a lot to discuss after last night's episode. But first we have some news about the series finale. The series finale has been extended 30 minutes and will now air from 9-11:30pm with a 2-hr preview episode to air before it. And then Jimmy Kimmel Live immediately following the finale for a live cast party at 1130pm.

Right at the beginning we see that Jack tells Locke he is a "candidate".... for surgery. I had a feeling the title would be related like that because the last Locke episode was "the Substitute" and it literally referenced Locke being a substitute in the flash sideways.

Widmore says he has a list of the candidates and Kate is not on that list... later we find out that she is on the list but her name is crossed off. I thought the only way the names get crossed off is if they are dead. Maybe not? We do know that if your name is on the wall then MIB cannot kill you because he cannot kill the candidates (more on this later)

Jack runs into Bernard in the flash sideways and finds out that Bernard was on Oceanic 815 with him... it would be a recurring theme throughout the episode

Fake Locke tells Jack the plan to get everyone to the plane, but Jack says that he is not leaving the island... as Jack is now totally convinced that he is on the island for a reason and there is no way he is leaving EVER.

Back at the cages, Fake Locke turns back into Smokey and wipes out all of Widmore's people. Jack then lets them all out of the cages and they start to head to the Ajira plane.

We cut back to the flash sideways and see that Anthony Cooper is nothing more than a vegetable. I wonder how that happened... well Locke tells Jack that it happened because Locke was trying to be pilot and crashed the little plane that him and his dad were on. Locke blames himself for injuring his Dad and wont let him die because of the guilt.

Back on the island, we see a very ironic scene. Fake Locke kills 2 more people and takes one of the guy's watches... then takes dynamite off the plane as part of a secret master plan. He then tells the Losties that Widmore wants to get them all in a nice confined space where no one can escape and then he wants to kill them with dynamite. The irony here is that the plan is exactly how Fake Locke said, but it is in fact Fake Locke who plans to do that to the Losties and not Widmore. Hence the submarine fiasco... Jack was absolutely right when he said that they all did exactly what Fake Locke wanted them to do. He got them in a small space with no escape possibly and tried to kill them that way. However we know that Fake Locke CANT kill the candidates no matter what....

So this makes the submarine scene very interesting. Jack, knowing what he knows now, is sure that the bomb wont go off because he knows that Fake Locke cant kill them. However, Sawyer is being a hardass and wants to cut the wires... Jack asks Sawyer to trust him, but Sawyer doesnt listen because the last time Sawyer trusted Jack it led to the death of his Juliet.

So Sawyer cuts the wire (and this is the most crucial point of the entire episode), because Sawyer cut the wires it will now be Sawyer who sets the bomb off and will be Sawyer's fault if they die. Jack was absolutely right again when he said that Fake Locke was trying to get them to kill each other because as I said, Fake Locke/MIB cannot kill them. So Sawyer cuts the wire and now they are all vulnerable to death. Sayid realizes this and comes out of his 'claimed coma' and gives his life to save Jack. Before he runs away he tells Jack "you are the one"... which im pretty sure means that he is going to be THE CANDIDATE. So a bunch of chaos goes on and it results in the death of Lapidus, Sayid, Sun, and Jin. A very good ending for Jin and Sun, they finally get back together and it was all just to die in each others arms. They had a good run and truly made an impact on this show over six seasons.

I think I now know exactly what Fake Locke is trying to do. He needs all of the candidates to be dead in order for him to leave, he has been lying by saying they all had to be together to leave the island. He needs them dead, but he CANT kill them so he needs someone else to do it much like he couldnt kill Jacob. *** If no one is left to take Jacob's place, Fake Locke/MIB is finally free to leave the island. Fake Locke somehow realizes that not everyone died on the submarine and takes off to find them.

I also think Fake Locke is keeping Claire around because his backup plan is to try and get Claire to kill the candidates since he cannot.

One final quick note from the flash sideways: I have noticed that every flash sideways character has looked into a mirror at some point. It happened again last night with Jack and Claire looking together through the little mirror in the box that Claire received in the will from Christian Shep.

Tonight we also heard Sayid tell Jack that Desmond was still in the well and was alive. Sayid said that Desmond was important otherwise Fake Locke wouldnt have wanted him killed. I now think that Desmond is going to show them all that they have constant's in the other universe. I think they may all die in the season finale and move over to their other universe lives because they all have constant's over there. The only one who seems to not have anyone in their lives in the flash sideways is Kate. Kate is running from everyone and everything and has nothing to hold onto in each timeline. So could that mean that in the real timeline everyone will die move over to their true life in the flash sideways except for Kate?... which would mean Kate would be the only one who doesnt go to the flash sideways, so she would be the only one left on the island...... making her the one who is the next protector of the island???? I know her name has been crossed off but you just never know. It would explain how our two universes come together and who the next protector would be. I think the Losties are on the island in order to kill MIB/Fake Locke/Smokey and once they do that then they can leave or die- and once that happens they will have the redemption they had been seeking and can move over to their rightful lives in the flash sideways where it seems all of them are happier.

It was so good to feel intense drama and actual shocking moments again, we havent seen true madness and heart pounding moments like that all season. Its gonna keep going from there, as next week's episode is called "Across the Sea" and will focus again on the Man in Black and Jacob. This is being hyped as one of the most answer filled episodes of the entire series, so I cannot wait.

I think that the kid we have seen appearing out of nowhere in the jungle are Jacob and MIB. We saw a kid with blonde hair and a kid with black so I think they are Jacob and MIB in kid form. I have a few other questions that I want to get answered next week........

Are Jacob and MIB related?
How did they end up on the island?
How did Jacob end up as protector of the island?
What happened to make MIB the smoke monster?
What started this whole 'game' between them two?

Hopefully we get some answers to these questions, as the last time we had a MIB/Jacob episode it was the highest rated episode in the history of LOST according to the fans. "Across the Sea" airs next Tuesday @ 9pm on ABC. Until next time......

LOST Season 6 Episode 13 "The Last Recruit"

This is going to be the last blog I write without my laptop, since next week is a repeat episode I will definitely have my blog back in time for Ep. 14- The Candidiate. But as for this week here is my recap for Ep. 13- The Last Recruit.

In the opening scene we see Sun and Locke going to hospital at the same time. Sun sees Locke and immediately starts yelling "Its Him, Its Him!" Im pretty sure this is from Sun having her island vision as a result of the tragic experience of being shot. So she is recalling herself being on the island and knowing the Locke is Smokey, so she is scared and yelling "Its Him, Its Him!"

Jack and Claire find out that they are half bro and sis thanks to Christian who is now dead. Jack is called into surgery---on Locke--- and says he will continue the meeting later.

Back on the island, we see Locke(Smokey) tell Jack that he did in fact that the form of his dead father on the island. Which pretty much confirms most of the theory's that ive had over the past 3 yrs about turning the wheel, Jacob's cabin, and MIB's plan to kill Jacob, so that was very rewarding for me.

Locke(Smokey) arranges a plan for his whole camp to march through the woods and go to Hydra Island to fly away on the plane. However, Sawyer has other ideas and gets all his original people to take a boat over to Widmore and basically screw over Locke(Smokey). Claire ends up joining against the will of everyone except for Kate- whos soul purpose for returning to the island was to reunite Claire with Aaron. Eventually Jack says that he cannot leave the island and dives into the water and back to Locke(Smokey).

When Sawyer's people get back to Widmore he has them cuffed and taken away. Obviously plans have changed for Widmore who is going back on his original deal with Sawyer when he said that him and his friends can leave on the submarine.

The big mystery this week is what did Sayid do with Desmond? Desmond asked Sayid what he would tell Nadia he did to be back with her again. Sayid seemed to have broken down at that point maybe voiding himself of the emotionless state that Smokey had put him in. Once again the love connection comes into play here and is going to be a major thing in the last few episodes. So did Sayid shoot Desmond? Probably not. Did he help him escape? OR did he just leave him there for Locke(Smokey) to deal with?

The Sun and Jin reunion was decent. I was expecting more out of a reunion that they made us wait over an entire season to see. Terrible place for them to reunite too, how many people thought Sun was gonna get zapped by the electric fence before hugging Jin? I know I did. But oh well, it was a solid moment and im glad theyre finally back together.

It seems like we now have our 'last recruit.' Jack gets struck by one of the missiles that Widmore camp shoots over, but Locke(Smokey) pulls Jack away and saves him. Locke(Smokey) seems to think that Jack is now on his side and that his plan is working out perfectly. Im not so sure thats the case though... because Jack has no plans to leave the island now, but Locke(Smokey) said he needs all the Ajira people to go off the island together. Interesting....

Next week we have our first and ONLY repeat of the season. But it is Ab Aeterno so thats not a bad thing. In 2 weeks we resume new episodes with Ep. 14- The Candidate. Finally we may know who it is thats going to replace Jacob... but then again, we probably wont find out at all. Until next time......

LOST Season 6 Episode 12 "Everybody Loves Hugo"

Well i got my answer immediately as to whether or not all the characters would be having "love visions." Libby had hers about Hurley, and even though she was crazy... Hurley still believed her. Maybe because in the other time line he was crazy and understood she could be telling the truth? Anyway, he went on a beach date with her, which is what they were suppose to do on the island before she died. Hurley kissed her and saw his love vision with her in it. All the dominoes are starting to fall into place here.

Im disappointed in Illana getting blown up because she was being hyped as such an important character who has many answers, but I guess the island was done with her- and BAM she was instantly gone.

We got another glimpse at a little boy in the jungle, and this time it was a dark haired boy. Im pretty sure that there are two kids- a blonde and a dark haired one. I think one his Jacob and one is MIB. Now as for why they are showing up as kids... i have no clue?

I thought Locke(Smokey) was going to ask Desmond to turn the frozen wheel for him, but out of nowhere he pushes him down there and Desmond is history. Im positive he is still alive, but we will see what happens with him in the next episode I am sure.

I think Hurley made a good call blowing up the Black Rock and ruining all the dynamite. The Black Rock served its purpose and it was a fitting end for the ship that we all have been wondering about for the last six years. Now the Ajira plane wont be blown up, so maybe Smokey will get what he wants. Thanks Hurley.

The final island scene was an epic one. Jack and Locke(Smokey) finally staring at each other eye to eye. I wish it was the real John Locke staring eye to eye with Jack though. Both camps are together and all hell is going to break loose.

The last scene was a shocker. Desmond nailing Locke and driving away. At first I was confused by this, but now think its Desmond making sure every character sees there vision of when they were on the island, or when they were in the other time line. As we know, it takes a very intense moment for the character to see his/her vision. Claire almost dying on the plane, Desmond when his car went into the water, Hurley when he kisses Libby, etc.

Next week's episode is called, "The Last Recruit" and will focus on pretty much everyone in the alt time line. I think we will see the final piece of MIB army come together as he will probably get one more recruit to fight for him in the war. Hence, The Last Recruit. Until next time......
